Aljamain Sterling recently replied to a Tweet where a fan fantasized about a matchup between him and Alexander Volkanovski. ‘Funkmaster’ claimed that his fighting style will cause problems for Volkanovski and that he’d be the first guy to take down the Australian.

Interestingly, the call out contained no trash talk and Aljamain Sterling sent his message across rather respectively. He said:
“All respect to Volk, but fighting him would be an interesting style clash. I’d be the first guy who could legit take him down and keep him there. I would trade with the bloke, he’s a heavy hitter and I know this. He’s the best for a reason, but my style causes problems.”

It is safe to say that Aljamain Sterling doesn’t lack self confidence at all. The Bantamweight champion called out Alexander Volkanovski even after seeing his recent performances which have been utterly dominated by the Australian.
Alexander Volkanovski is coming off a dominant victory over Max Holloway in their trilogy bout. The Australian put every debate to rest by outclassing Holloway over the course of five rounds.
On the flipside, Aljamain Sterling took on Petr Yan at UFC 273 and walked away with a decision win. Since their respective win, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding their future.
While nothing seems to be certain at the moment, it will definitely be a treat to watch Aljamain Sterling move up in weigh to take on Alexander Volkanovski. It will be interesting to see if the UFC get on board to make this fight happen in the future or not.
