Al Nassr new coach: Saudis keep splurging as they try to bring Saudi Arabian football’s status among the top class. Al-Nassr brought Cristiano Ronaldo in the hopes of getting back to winning the Saudi Pro League which they have been unable to win for the last 3 seasons. However, even though Ronaldo has been thriving for the Saudi side, Al-Nassr are yet to gain that upper hand in the Saudi national league. They now occupy the 2nd position in the league with 3 points behind the table-topper Al-Ittihad.

They have only 7 matches left to retain the top place, but that will still depend on the topper team dropping some points. At this stage, they have sacked their manager Rudi José Garcia and appointed the Croatian Dinko Jelicic as interim manager. Now, they are looking for a new manager and as per reports, they are looking to appoint either Zinedine Zidane or Jose Mourinho as their new manager.

Al-Nassr probably believe that creating a familiar environment for the Portuguese striker will help him come out of his shell to get back to his prime form. Reportedly, Ronaldo was unhappy with the former Al-Nassr coach’s tactics. He was also not in a good mood when Al-Nassr again dropped points against Al Feiha in their last match in the Saudi Pro League.

Hence, Ronaldo will need a manager who he can gel with to progress. Al-Nassr could give Ronaldo permission to have a say in the matter. Ronaldo has had the best relationship with Jose Mourinho and Zinedine Zidane in his career. Hence, Al-Nassr could approach any of them and there have been reports that Al-Nassr is even ready to offer $131 million to Zinedine Zidane to come to the Saudi club.

Zidane and Ronaldo worked for only one season when they developed a great relationship and won several awards together for Real Madrid. Zidane is not working since he left Real Madrid in 2021. He was offered several lucrative jobs but he did not accept any of those jobs. He could still join any top European clubs if he wants. That’s why AL-Nassr are ready to offer a huge amount to attract Zidane.

Ronaldo and Mourinho worked together for 3 seasons and the two had a good relationship throughout the stint. Hence, he could be poached to reunite with Ronaldo at the Saudi club as well. However, for that to happen, Mourinho will have to leave his job at Roma. The chances of that are slim as when Mourinho was offered over $120 million for the role of Saudi Arabia’s national team coach, he did not opt to answer.
