Mr. Kalyan Chaubey was elected as the new AIFF President on 2nd September after winning the elections by a landmark victory of 33-1 against fellow former Indian footballer Bhaichung Bhutia. At his first press conference, Mr. Chaubey gave emphasis on how he and his team are keen on bringing a change. The AIFF will now take a mighty step towards the growth and development of the grassroots development of Indian football.

As per the plans of the new AIFF Executive committee, on the 7th of September, the short-term plan of the AIFF will be produced. the AIFF Executive Committee Meeting is scheduled to take place on the 17th or 18th of September in Kolkata where discussions will take place on further important matters.

After 100 days, the Realistic Roadmap of Indian football will be presented by the AIFF. Kalyan Chaubey further added that he had a conversation with FIFA President Gianni Infantino who asked for a meeting with Chaubey. Chaubey, keen on meeting the FIFA President claims that he will discuss with his team before meeting the head global football body chief and ask for his suggestions.

“In a bid as to how to improve Indian football, we will present the short-term plan of the AIFF. After that, on 17th or 18th September in Kolkata, the AIFF Executive Committee Meeting will take place,” said Chaubey.
“After 100 days, a realistic Roadmap for Indian football will also be presented. I had a conversation with the FIFA President. he wanted to meet me in Doha or Paris or Zurich. I asked that I will definitely meet, but we need to decide amongst ourselves what to ask from you. The Aim is to develop the grassroots level of football in the country and I will discuss this with the Education and Sports minister of the country,” he concluded.
