After the T20 WC, Finch stated that he would evaluate his future during the BBL. He had a productive Big Bash League with the Melbourne Renegades, scoring 428 runs at an average of 38.90. But now he has made the decision not to push himself for Australia’s next T20 series which will be vs South Africa in August.
Aaron Finch: In Numbers
When the Aussie team defeated New Zealand in Dubai in 2021, Finch served as captain and led the team to its first T20 World Cup victory.
With 3120 runs at 34.28 and a strike rate of 142.53 in the T20 format, Finch leaves as Australia’s top male run scorer.
The highest T20I innings of all time is his top score of 172 against Zimbabwe in 2018, a record which he also held with his 156 against England in 2013.
