Royal Challengers Bengaluru launch green kit ahead of IPL 2024 opener

RCB changed their name to Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Unbox event on March 19th

In the early hours of Tuesday, Virat Kohli and his Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammates arrived in Chennai via a charter flight, swiftly transitioning from the glitz of the RCB Unbox event. The team reached Chennai for the upcoming clash against defending champions Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling IPL 2024 opener at the iconic Chepauk stadium on March 22.

Since 2011, RCB has been donning green jerseys as part of their commitment to promoting environmental conservation. Every season, the team designates one of its home matches to “Go Green” initiatives, advocating for sustainable practices. Notably, the jerseys worn in 2023 were crafted from recycled waste gathered at the stadium, showcasing RCB’s dedication to eco-friendly initiatives.

Despite the whirlwind of activities, the team managed to fit in a photoshoot, showcasing their brand-new green outfit for the season. The image of RCB’s striking green jersey quickly gained traction on social media.

RCB, yet to claim the coveted IPL title, enters the season with renewed determination, buoyed by the recent success of their WPL side.

The spotlight inevitably falls on Virat Kohli, who returns to cricket after a hiatus, as fans eagerly anticipate his performance and leadership on the field. With high hopes and expectations, RCB aims to emulate the success of their counterparts and make their mark in the IPL 2024 season.
