Igor Stimac’s squad, enduring a challenging campaign, faces an uphill battle against Syria, led by experienced coach Hector Cuper. Jalil Elias, a central midfielder with experience in Argentina’s football scene, currently plying his trade with Malaysian club Darul Ta’zim. Both Ousou and Elias add depth and quality to Syria’s lineup.
However, the linchpin of Syria’s attack remains the formidable 29-year-old forward, Omar Khribin. With a strong physical presence and a scoring record highlighted by 36 goals during his five-year tenure at Al-Hilal SFC, Khribin poses a significant threat.
