West Indies started off very poorly in their second innings, with Josh Hazlewood getting rid of both openers Kraig Brathwaite and Chanderpaul within his first two overs. The pacer struck twice yet again to take his tally to 4 in the 2nd innings. Cameron Green added one wicket to his name, getting rid Kirk McKenzie (26), who remains the top-scorer for the visitors.
Nathan Lyon ended the proceedings on Day 2 after getting the wicket of the well-settled Justin Greaves in the final ball of the day. At stumps, West Indies are 73-6, trailing Australia by 22 runs.
24-year-old Shamar Joseph had a dream start to his Test career after getting rid of Australia’s new opener Steve Smith right in his first delivery. And that was the beginning of the five-star assault that Joseph unleashed on the hosts. Marnus Labuschagne and Cameron Green were the next two victims.
Riding high on confidence, Shamar completed the cleanup of the lower order batsmen, getting rid of Starc and Lyon before Kemar Roach uprooted the stumps to send Australia packing.
