India’s star batter Virat Kohli got indulged in a funny banter with South Africa’s stand-in skipper Dean Elgar during IND vs SA 2nd Test at Cape Town on Wednesday.
The incident happened on the 24th over when Marco Jansen’s delivery to Kohli resulted in a loud LBW shout.
While umpire gave it not out, the Proteas team decided to go for DRS. The ball-tracking showed it as umpire’s call.
After surviving the close-call, Kohli playfully reminded Elgar of a similar incident in 2021.
“Oh please this was much higher than what you got from Ash in 2021,” Kohli was heard telling Elgar.
The reference was to the 2021 Cape Town Test, where Elgar was given out on by the on-field umpire, but ball tracking revealed that the ball was marginally missing the stumps.
