On Thursday, during Argentina’s 1-0 victory against Paraguay, Lionel Messi came agonisingly close to scoring his 105th goal in international play with a beautiful Olympico goal. After entering the game in Buenos Aires as a substitute eight minutes into the second half, Messi twice struck the post. In the 76th minute, he came close to scoring directly off a corner kick. With his renowned left foot, Messi blasted a pass over from the right that looped towards the goal and dropped near the back post.
