Team India starred by Virat Kohli and KL Rahul brought their absolute best to R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, defeating Pakistan by a massive 228 runs. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav also played a major as he bamboozled the Pakistan batters by scalping a fifer after giving just 25 runs in 8 overs. To note, this is India’s biggest win against Pakistan in terms of runs.
Resuming their assault on Pakistan on the reserve day, India reached a mammoth 356/2, their highest score against Pakistan in ODIs. It was down to Rahul making a stunning comeback to international cricket with a classy 111 not out off 106 balls while Kohli combined astute running between the wickets with dazzling stroke play to hit his fourth ODI century in as many innings at the venue through an unbeaten 122 off just 94 balls. Previously, openers Shubman Gill and skipper Rohit Sharma also completed quickfire fifties with the bat.
In the bowling department, pacers did their job with the new ball before spinner Kuldeep Yadav weaved his magic. The left-arm spinner completed a five-wicket haul as Pakistan totally surrendered in front of the Rohit Sharma and Co.

Meanwhile, the Men in Blue will take on Sri Lanka in their next match of the Asia Cup. With their mammoth win over Pakistan, the Men in Blue have already reached top of the table in Super 4s. However, they will look to consolidate their position against the home side who have been on and off in the competition so far.
