Notably, Rohit Sharma is likely to miss the upcoming Test match, as tested positive for COVID-19 last week. Though some reports claim it is certain that Sharma will not be able to make the cut, head coach Rahul Dravid is still harbouring hope.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, he said “Rohit is being monitored by our medical team. He is not ruled out of Test match. He will have a RT PCR test later today and one tomorrow. We have 36 hours to the game, there’s still time.”

Meanwhile, the Indian team continued their practice as usual, despite the absence of the leader. Special focus was given on fielding drills, as Dravid would want his players to be as sharp on the field as he was in his playing days.
In Rohit’s absence, Virat Kohli was undoubtedly the focal point of attraction in the training session. He was seen sharing a laugh with youngster Shubman Gill at one time but was focused when it was his time to sweat it out.
