Why Rohit Sharma did not leave with the team? According to available information, Rohit had a personal commitment due to which he will now fly on Friday.

Rohit was due to fly with the team on Thursday itself. But sources close to Rohit informed InsideSport ‘that due to a pressing commitment on the family front, Rohit will now fly on Friday’.

Meanwhile, former skipper Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and other Indian players who are not a part of the ongoing five-match T20I series against South Africa have already landed in England.

R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Prasidh Krishna, Cheteshwar Pujara, Hanuma Vihari and KS Bharat are the other players who have left for England.

Meanwhile, head coach Rahul Dravid will join the team only after the conclusion of the ongoing series against South Africa, which ends on Sunday. Besides him, current series’ skipper Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer will also depart for England after the ongoing series.

As for India’s assignments in England, they will start off with a postponed Test match against the Three Lions at Edgbaston on 1^st July. Following that, Rohit Sharma’s team will play 3 ODIs and as many T20I matches as well
