Pro Kabaddi PKL 8: UP Yoddha unleash a record-breaking defensive effort to take down Bengaluru Bulls
The UP defenders comprising Sumit, Nitesh Kumar, Ashu Singh and Shubam Kumar stepped up for their team when it mattered the most as they helped the team pick up a whopping 22 tackle points, which is the most by any team in the history of PKL.
Bengaluru went into the game as favorites, having won five out of their last six games. They were also placed second in the points table and against a team like UP Yoddha, it was expected to be a cakewalk for the Bulls. But UP Yoddha stepped into the mat as a completely different side.
Despite their frailties in raids, they showed what they can do with their defence as right from the word go, the defenders were seen prowling on the Bengaluru raiders. Defender Sumit started off the proceedings by unleashing a hat-trick of successful tackles within the first seven minutes.
