Tokyo Olympics: Ecstatic Indian cricket fraternity congratulates Lovlina Borgohain after boxer assures India of 2nd medal: Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain etched her name in the history books after reaching the semi-finals of the women’s 69kg welterweight category, thereby confirming India’s 2nd medal in Tokyo Olympics. Her triumph in the difficult third round against Chen Nien-chin was commended by all and India’s cricket fraternity rejoiced too. Indian veterans- Wasim Jaffer, Yusuf Pathan, Mohammad Kaif, and VVS Laxman were amongst the firsts to congratulate Lovlina on her medal.

After her heroics, she has booked a sure-shot bronze medal for India.  As Indians pump her to clinch for gold in the remaining contests, wishes pour in huge numbers from the cricket fraternity. BCCI Secretary- Jay Shah and former Indian pacer RP Singh heaped praises for the Indian boxer on her achievement.

Tokyo Olympics: Sports Minister Anurag Thakur also congratulated the boxer.

Tokyo Olympics: Even IPL franchisees cheered for the Indian boxer as she cruised her way to the semi-finals.
