The ODI series will kick off on July 14 in Birmingham, and 8 players will join the squad for the T20I series end.

Team India has officially started preparations for the India vs England ODI series. With just three days left for the 50-over assignment to begin, six Indian players arrived at the Edgbaston Stadium for practice. Virat Kohli, who lives in England, joined the squad, while others like Rohit Sharma had arrived a few days earlier.

In fact, Rohit had already been practicing in the nets upon his arrival. KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Gurnoor Brar also flew from India to join the squad in Birmingham. Some players haven’t joined the ODI team yet, since the last T20I against England will be played later today in Southampton.

Shubman Gill, India’s ODI captain, has been in England for a while now. On July 10, he was spotted at Wimbledon for the second semifinal between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic. He wasn’t the only cricketer present there, with Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara in attendance in the Royal Box.

Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Shivam Dube, Prasidh Krishna, and Arshdeep Singh are part of the T20I team and will travel to Birmingham afterwards. It’s yet to be seen whether someone like Prince Yadav will be added to the ODI squad, considering Harshit Rana recently injured himself.

The Indian support staff, which will likely be weakened after the England tour, with T. Dilip expected to leave as the fielding coach, will be divided into two groups. Some of them will accompany the ODI team, while the others will stay put with the T20I side.
