The IPL 2027 trade window is open, and already a few high-profile names have moved to different teams. Ahead of the next season, Rishabh Pant is coming back to DC, while Kuldeep Yadav will go to LSG. Perhaps the next trade could come from GT now; where reportedly, spinner Sai Kishore has expressed his desire to leave the Shubman Gill-led franchise.
As per a report in Tamil Samayam, Sai Kishore wishes to move to another franchise, due to lack of game time at the Titans. For the record, the left-arm spinner played only three matches in IPL 2026, bowled in only two, and picked up just one wicket. Barring only the 2025 edition, he has never played over 5 matches in the season.
Sai Kishore wants to go to CSK?
In an interview with the Times of India, he revealed, that he was disappointed for not getting chances to play in the IPL. “I think I prepared really well and it’s very disappointing that I’m not getting my chances. I did my part, played well. Time is always like that and the thing about time is it always comes back. I had seven to eight months of a purple patch… now seven-eight months of a bad patch is going on. So what’s next? It can only be good,” he had said at the TNCA annual function.
In the last few years, the Impact Sub rule seems to have diminished his utility as a bowler, which perfectly describes his non-inclusion in the playing XIs. If the report believed, Kishore has asked GT to facilitate a trade deal with CSK, where there is potentially room for another spinner.
CSK had Akeal Hosein and Noor Ahmad this year, but only shone in patches. Eventually, they finished 8th in the points table, getting only 6 victories overall. They lack the presence of a solid Indian spinner for sure in their line up. But no confirmation about the trade deal has been made by CSK, or GT about these claims.
Other potential trade deals, Hardik Pandya could exit MI
There have been a few reports suggesting, MI could trade Hardik Pandya — with two main contenders for now — KKR and RR. The all-rounder has led MI in the last three seasons, with the side reaching the playoffs only once. His own performance hasn’t been the best.
In 10 matches this year, he scored only 206 runs at an SR of 138, and picked up 4 wickets in all. That is perhaps, what could have triggered the IPL trade deal rumours.
