And it is official now! The IPL 2027 trade deal between DC and LSG is complete. Rishabh Pant is set to return to Delhi Capitals after a gap of two years, while Kuldeep Yadav will go to Lucknow Super Giants. The same was revealed in an IPL release on Tuesday. It will be homecoming of sorts for the Delhi lad, who had played for DC from 2016 to 2024, appearing in 111 matches.
Rishabh Pant back to DC with pay cut
There he had scored 3284 runs at an average of 35.31, including 1 hundred and 18 fifties. He still happens to be the overall highest scorer for the franchise ever. His return will only bolster the batting of DC, which had fallen short in the last couple of years, here and there.
Further, Pant had been the skipper of DC between 2021-2024, before entering in the IPL 2025 auction, and being bagged by LSG for 27 Cr. Now, his revised salary at this franchise would be 15 Cr only. On the other had, Kuldeep Yadav would be bidding adieu to his team of five years — DC. He had joined the team in 2022, bagging 72 wickets in 65 matches. He too became one of the most successful bowlers for the team. Kuldeep will join the team at 13.50 Cr.
Hardik Pandya IPL trade deal on the cards
This deal kickstarts the IPL trade deal season for next year, and there could be a few more coming our way. As per RevSportz, there could be one coming up between RR and MI, where skipper Hardik Panyda would move to Rajasthan, while Yashasvi Jaiswal would come to Mumbai.
MI have had some issues with their opening batting for the last few seasons. And if an established opener like Jaiswal could pair Rohit Sharma, their batting woes would reduce. IPL rumour has it, that the team is also ready to let go Suryakumar Yadav, but there is still lack of clarity, as to which team would bag him. Prime contenders could be KKR, who might just offer him the captaincy as well.
