IPL 2027: CSK has categorically denied, that they did not approach MI for Hardik Pandya trade deal.

This is the IPL trade rumours season, and a few weeks after the IPL 2026 concluded, a host of reports have started surfacing, over the potential trade of players, some overwhelmingly untrue. There are a few surrounding MI skipper Hardik Pandya as well. It seemed that CSK were interested in getting Pandya for IPL 2027, but Cricbuzz has confirmed, that there is no truth in this.

Hardik Pandya not moving to CSK

According to a CSK insider, there have been no enquiries by CSK for the MI all-rounder. So, that in turn means, that the report of MI-RR trade deal might just be correct. As per RevSportz, Yashasvi Jaiswal is likely to come to MI and Pandya goes to RR, and the talks are in advance stage already.

“Meanwhile, the franchise has received a few trade enquiries, but an approach for Pandya is not among them. For now, the CSK position is that it will not spare any player for trade.” the Cricbuzz report had said. Actually, similar was the response for a potential deal with DC for David Miller, in place of pacer Khaleel Ahmed.

“There was some speculation on Monday that CSK and Delhi Capitals could explore a swap involving Khaleel Ahmed and David Miller, but both franchises have categorically denied the possibility,” the report further added.

The Kuldeep Yadav-Rishabh Pant trade

Earlier, ESPNCricinfo had revealed that Rishabh Pant is set to comeback to DC, albeit at a salary cut, and LSG will get Kuldeep Yadav for the IPL 2027. Pant is likely to get a salary of only 15 Cr, which is substantially less that the 27 Cr he made with the Lucknow franchise.

The reason why this sounds even believable is, just after the tournament ended, Pant had stepped down from the captaincy role. In the two years at the helm, LSG struggled to make it to the playoffs and their performance was poor. Pant’s own batting form took a hit, so-much-so, that he is not in consideration for India team berth.
