BCCI has punished two India A players even though they’ve qualified for the tri-series final in Sri Lanka. Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan continue their rich vein of form. Prince Yadav made his India debut in Lucknow. Yashasvi Jaiswal missed out on an opportunity. Lastly, a KKR fast bowler has gone under the knife.

BCCI fines Tilak Varma & Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
The BCCI will fine Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Tilak Varma for their conduct in the India A vs Sri Lanka A match on June 15. The BCCI will impose the punishment after match referee Pradeep Jeyapragash sanctioned the Indian batters 50% and 30% of their match fee for a physical altercation and arguing with the umpires.

Hundreds for Shubman Gill & Ishan Kishan
Shubman Gill scored his maiden hundred as India’s ODI captain in Lucknow against Afghanistan, which earned him back-to-back Player of the Match awards. Gill ended up scoring 154, as India scored 402 and won by 170 runs. Ishan Kishan smashed an ODI hundred after 4 years, scoring 120 off 79 while batting at number four.

Yashasvi Jaiswal misses out
Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the ODI team courtesy of Nitish Kumar Reddy sustaining a thigh injury. Gill sacrificed his opening spot for Jaiswal, pushing himself and others one spot down. The move was made to have a back-up opener ready, considering Rohit Sharma’s fitness and age. However, Jaiswal didn’t have the best outing, scoring 4 off 9.
