The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Tuesday made a change in their squad for the T20I series against Australia, that commences on June 17 in Chattogram. They have added experienced all-rounder Soumya Sarkar in the squad, since as per Cricbuzz, skipper Litton Das might be undergoing some fitness issues.

Further, Litton will be under observation, ahead of the first match. The stylish batter had suffered a muscle strain during the third ODI against Australia in Mirpur on June 14. While there is no immediate injury concern, but a decision will be made following a scan on Tuesday. But still, the inclusion of Soumya Sarkar gives them additional option, in case a need arises.
“The 33-year-old Soumya adds valuable experience to the squad, having scored 1,462 runs in 87 T20 Internationals for Bangladesh. He was part of Bangladesh’s ODI squad against Australia and now returns to the T20 setup,” BCB said in a statement.

Hosts Bangladesh had a wonderful ODI series against the Aussies, where they made history and beat the reigning world champs 2-1. This was also their first bilateral series win over the Kangaroos, ever. It was their superior bowling in the conditions, that brought historic win to the hosts.
Shoriful Islam and Mustafzur Rahman finished with 6 wickets each, while Taskin Ahmed bagged 5, and Nahid Rana claimed 4. In the batting department, Mosaddek Hossain led the efforts with 157 runs in 3 encounters, followed by Towhid Hridoy (154), and Najmul Hossain Shanto (132).
