Another World Cup to win
The Indian women’s cricket team have the monkey off their back. They have proven to the world that they are no pushovers; the sport is not confined to Australia and England anymore. At home, Harmanpreet Kaur & co. beat Australia in the semifinal and then South Africa in the final to lift their maiden World Cup title (ODI) last year. Now, they have set their sights on the T20 version of it.
Australia are once again the dominant force in this format. But before India even go to the knockout stage, they have to deal with Australia and South Africa in Group A. The road is not smooth as they need to beat Pakistan. Any slip-up will cost them a semifinal spot, with only two teams from Group A progressing to the knockouts.
INDW vs PAKW Head-to-Head
Overall, Team India are dominant over Pakistan in women’s cricket, especially in the T20 format. In 16 matches overall, India have won 13 to Pakistan’s 3. In the Women’s T20 World Cup, Pakistan have won two to India’s six.
| Stat | Overall | Women’s T20 WC |

| Matches | 16 | 8 |
| Won (India Women) | 13 | 6 |
| Won (Pakistan Women) | 3 | 2 |
| Winning % (India Women) | 81.25 | 75 |
| Winning % (Pakistan Women) | 18.75 | 25 |
What to Expect from INDW vs PAKW?
India won the ODI World Cup at home last year, so T20 form has naturally been a secondary conversation. But that form has been patchy: a good series win away in Australia, then a 1-4 thumping in South Africa, then a 1-2 loss against England. They arrive at this tournament good on paper, unsettled in execution.
Pakistan women’s cricket team come in ranked eighth, have not made a semi-final in 17 years, and have a new captain in Fatima Sana. For all that, they beat South Africa recently, swept Zimbabwe 3-0, and held their own in the Ireland tri-series. They are not the pushovers the ranking suggests.
