Virat Kohli: Player of the IPL 2026 final
For acing the 156-run chase in the final, Virat Kohli was named the player of the match. He struck the fastest half-century of his IPL career off 25 balls and hit the winning shot to win a second IPL trophy.
“Stuff you dream of. Thought of this moment many times, wanting to hit the winning run. Felt really relaxed coming in. The team we have gives confidence to see any kind of situation through. Knew exactly what to do in the chase. (On his fastest fifty) Gives you something to work towards. I had to change my mindset, not my game so much, take on bowlers and get extra runs. We didn’t care what jersey was in front of us from thereon. We have mature professionals and experience shines through. When the big situation comes, you need the big boys to step up. Told Venky we need to kill the game in the powerplay. There was total clarity. We had small targets and played free cricket. His intent was the difference-maker in the last three-four games,” Kohli said in the post-match interview.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi: MVP of IPL 2026 & Orange Cap holder
The 15-year-old bagged not one or two but five awards. It was as if the entire ceremony was organised for him. As expected, he’s the youngest to win all of these awards.
“It feels good but under pressure, as I’m here for the interview. Will try to do well next year. I try to back my game and if I think I can hit the first ball, I go all out. I learnt you can’t go all out all the time and how to play under pressure and read situations and play to the requirement of the team. I have to work on fitness and stay away from injuries. The Rajasthan Royals are supportive; senior players and support staff back me. It’s a nice environment,” Sooryavanshi told Ravi Shastri.
