Australia is scheduled to travel to Pakistan for a three-match ODI series, which will be played from May 30 till June 4 across two venues in Pakistan. The series, which is part of the ICC cricketing calendar, comes into place with the teams preparing for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, set to be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia in October-November next year. Although with over a year left for the marquee tournament, both teams are eyeing kicking off their preparations, hoping to get their hands on the title with the best possible teams.
Highlighting on two teams, while Pakistan will be entering this series after recently registering a 1-2 series defeat against Bangladesh, Australia haven’t featured in ODIs off late. The Men in Green have recalled their experienced campaigner Babar Azam, along with Naseem Shah and Shadab Khan for the upcoming series after leaving them out against Bangladesh in March.
On the other hand, Australia, who have been dominant against Pakistan in this format with 71 wins out of 111 matches till date, have left out their key pacers in Cummins, Hazlewood and Starc. Moreover, with Mitchell Marsh also out, Josh Inglis has been handed the captaincy reins of the side, which features three newbies in Ollie Peake, Liam Scott and Joel Davies. Notably, Australia last played an ODI series in October 2025 at home against India, and won it by 2-1 margin.
