Sri Lanka Cricket has announced the squads for the tour to the West Indies, which will commence from June 3 onwards. SL have named Kusal Mendis as the new captain for the white-ball formats of the game, while Dhananjaya de Silva will lead the side in the red-ball format. The WI vs SL series will begin on June 3 with 3 ODI games, followed by 3 T20Is and then two Tests.

Kamindu Mendis has been named as Kusal’s deputy in ODIs and T20Is, and as de Silva’s deputy in Tests. Kusal replaces Charith Asalanka as the white-ball skipper as Sri Lanka aim to hit the reset button ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup. Hasaranga and Theekshana are among the players who will return to action after staying out of the game for the last few months owing to injuries.
The red-ball squad includes experienced names such as Dinesh Chandimal, Prabath Jayasuriya, and Lahiru Kumara, alongside uncapped and other players as Sri Lanka look to add important points in the World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle. They are currently on the 4th spot in the standings, with a win and a draw in two Tests. Sri Lanka Cricket selectors have also rewarded domestic performers, including Pasindu Sooriyabandara and Sonal Dinusha with call-ups to the main team.
