Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Anukul Roy has been included in the India A squad for the tri-series against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. The tri-series is set to begin from June 9 and will coincide with the one-off Test and ODI series against Afghanistan. Since Harsh Dubey is a part of both India’s Test and ODI teams, he has been replaced with Anukul Roy in the India A squad.
Anukul Roy replaces Harsh Dubey in India A
In a statement, the BCCI informed that Anukul has been added to the India A squad for the tri-series in Sri Lanka. He will replace Harsh Dubey, who has received his maiden call-up to the Test and the ODI squad. The team will be led by Tilak Varma, with RR captain Riyan Parag serving as the former’s deputy. 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has also been named in the squad.
“The Men’s Selection Committee has added Anukul Roy to the India A squad for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka. He replaces Harsh Dubey, who has received his maiden call-up to India’s Test and ODI squads for the upcoming IDFC First Bank home series against Afghanistan,” the statement read.
Having made his IPL debut way back in 2019, Anukul played his full season in IPL 2026, having picked up 8 wickets from 13 matches, with best figures of 2/31. The 27-year-old has amassed 1279 runs in List A cricket from 61 games since his debut in 2018 and has also bagged 59 wickets. He has been used primarily as a bowler by KKR in IPL 2026 and has repaid the faith of captain Ajinkya Rahane on multiple occasions by getting crucial wickets.
