The BCCI on Wednesday announced an extensive schedule for the Indian domestic season 2026-27, that will constitute a massive 1,788 matches across all age groups, gender and format. As per a release issued by the BCCI, there will be as many as six categories, where these matches will be played — Senior, U23, U19 and U16 categories in men’s cricket, and senior, U23, U19 and U15 women’s competitions.
Irani Cup in Jammu & Kashmir
The calendar starts with the Duleep trophy from 23rd August, followed by the Irani Cup in Jammu & Kashmir, and the Ranji Trophy in two phases, starting from October, and ending in early Feb next year. In November, the time will come for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, followed by the Vijay Hazare Trophy in December.
In a major shift, the BCCI has now done away with the Men’s U23 State A Trophy “and the Vizzy Trophy have been converted from One Day competitions to T20 tournaments.” Meanwhile, in the women’s section, the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy for elite and plate division will happen from October 26. The Senior Women’s One Day Trophy will commence from December 19, followed by the Interzonal Trophy in Feb.
