After a defeat at the hands of KKR in the last match, GT have bounced back and how. The team had qualified earlier for the IPL 2026 playoffs, but the match against CSK was about moving a step closer to the top two position in the points table. Will Gujarat Titans qualify for top 2?
The chances of GT making it to top 2 are significantly high. The team has been ticking all the boxes, and sit pretty on 18 points now. Their quota of 14 matches is done, and now they have to wait for the result of RCB vs SRH match, which will decide their fate.
If RCB win: If Bengaluru win, they remain top of the table, and finish with 20 points. Then GT also finish in 2nd, hence giving them an extra chance to go to the final.
If SRH win: If SRH win, both GT and Hyderabad will have 18 points. The team with the better NRR goes into the 2nd spot.
