The Rajasthan Royals (RR) will once again wear their special all-pink jersey when they take on Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday (May 9) night. But this is not just a regular league game for Rajasthan. For the Royals, the annual ‘Pink Promise Match’ has become a tradition.
Now in its third year, the initiative has turned into one of the franchise’s flagship social campaigns. Through the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF), the Royals are using the IPL’s reach to support women-led development and solar electrification projects in underserved parts of Rajasthan.
Rajasthan Royals’ Pink Promise
The idea behind the campaign remains, “Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai.” The franchise believes real transformation begins with women, and this year’s jersey has been designed to reflect exactly that.
Interestingly, the 2026 Pink Promise jersey came through a nationwide design competition under Royals HunaRR Manch Season 2. More than 8,500 entries were submitted by over 700 designers across India before 19-year-old Samiksha Rameshwar Mundada from Nashik emerged as the winner.
The jersey carries ripple-style patterns symbolising how one act of change spreads across families and communities. There are also solar-inspired elements stitched into the design, alongside names of women supported by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation programmes.

Every six tonight will light up homes in Rajasthan
The Royals are also continuing their solar electrification drive during tonight’s match. For every six hit in the RR vs GT game, six homes in Rajasthan will receive solar power support. It is an initiative that has already created sizeable impact over the past two IPL seasons.
Rajasthan Royals’ Pink Promise impact
| Season | Homes Electrified |
|---|---|
| IPL 2024 | 260 |
| IPL 2025 | 520 |
| Total | 780 |
Women from the Sambhar region, trained under RRF programmes, have played a major role in installing and maintaining the solar infrastructure. Speaking about the initiative, Rajasthan Royals COO Alok Chitre said:
“The Pink Promise has grown into a powerful movement over the past years, where cricket directly contributes for good beyond the game. We have seen this initiative translate into real, tangible impact on the ground. In 2024, the initiative helped power 260 homes, followed by over 520 homes in 2025. As we step into another season, we remain committed to scaling this impact further and continuing to drive women-led transformation.“
Rajasthan Royals clearly remain in the playoff race and are still in control of their own qualification scenario. In fact, RR currently remain on course for a possible top-two finish if results go their way. Historically, 16 points has usually been enough to secure playoff qualification in the 10-team IPL era. RR already are on 12 points, with eight more points still up for grabs. A win for them against GT tonight could take them to the top of the IPL 2026 points table.
