The Indian men’s team won’t be the only team in blue who will take on Zimbabwe this year. Well, India and Zimbabwe women are finally set to face each other in a bilateral international series for the first time ever. It might sound surprising but the women in blue have never faced Zimbabwe in an international game. History will be made when India host the them for three T20Is and as many ODIs later this year.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), while announcing a packed 2026 home calendar on Wednesday, confirmed that Zimbabwe Women will tour India in October. It will also mark Zimbabwe women’s first-ever tour to India.
The T20I leg of the series will be played in Raipur on October 16, 18 and 20, while the ODI matches are scheduled in Baroda on October 23, 25 and 28.

The announcement is part of a wider BCCI roadmap involving India’s senior women’s side, India A teams, and Under-19 squads across both men’s and women’s cricket. The men’s U19 and the ‘A’ teams will be busy, as Australia will be touring India in September and October.
While the India women’s team is yet to tour Zimbabwe for bilateral fixtures, this upcoming series is expected to be an important opportunity for both sides ahead of the next ICC cycle. Zimbabwe Women have gradually expanded their international calendar over the last few years and a tour of India represents one of the biggest assignments in their history. They won the Women’s World Cup 2026 African Division One Qualifier but failed to book their berth in the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 by finishing last in the Women’s Global Qualifiers in Nepal.
Apart from the Zimbabwe series, India A Women will host Australia A and England A later this year in multi-format tours. Both visiting sides will play three T20s, three one-day matches and one multi-day fixture each.
The India Under-19 women’s team also has a busy home season lined up, with Sri Lanka U19 and England U19 both scheduled to tour India.
