And hosts England have gone ahead and announced their rather strong 15-member squad, on Tuesday. The winners of the 2009 edition, ENG named an 18-year-old spinner, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, that came as a huge surprise, while the rest of the squad remained on expected lines, under the leadership of Nat Sciver-Brunt.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Dean will the vice captain of the side, which will also feature Issy Wong, and veteran Danni Wyatt-Hodge, who will be playing in her 8th WC. Skipper Sciver-Brunt said, that the team cannot wait to step on the field, and win the title again. “It is a huge honour to be leading England into a T20 World Cup at home in front of family and friends and all our passionate supporters.
“We have all been looking forward to this summer and this tournament for some time now and the naming of the squad means it is almost here and we can’t wait to get out onto the field and give it everything to win this World Cup again,” she said. “I know how much winning in 2009 meant to the players and to Charlotte Edwards as captain, and being in the team under Heather Knight’s leadership for the 2017 ODI World Cup win was incredibly special.”
The only notable exclusion in the side could be that of Sarah Glenn, who missed out due to a finger injury. As far as the groups are concerned, England are in Group B, along with the likes of Ireland, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Scotland and West Indies.
