The Pakistan Super League (PSL) playoffs begin from April 28, with Peshawar Zalmi taking on Islamabad United in Qualifier.

Major delight incoming for fans in Pakistan as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allowed them to attend the crucial remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has stated that the PSL playoff matches won’t be played behind closed doors, with fans now allowed to watch from the stadiums.

The PCB decided in March that the PSL 11, which was supposed to take place in six cities, will only take place in Lahore and Karachi. The decision was made after a war between Iran and Israel, which the US was involved in, made it hard for the country to get fuel. So, it was decided that fans would not be able to watch the tournament’s league matches either, so that everyone could focus on saving fuel.

What did Mohsin Naqvi say?

Just had a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and I’m pleased to share that we have secured his approval for public attendance in all three PSL playoff matches as well,” Naqvi posted on X on Monday. “However, this comes with an important condition from his side that fans are strongly encouraged to use public transport or minimise fuel consumption while attending the matches, in line with the ongoing national austerity efforts.”

Naqvi’s update came barely a day before the Peshawar Zalmi vs Islamabad United Qualifier in Karachi. As of now, top PCB officials are still working out the ticketing and logistics details. Eliminator 1 is set for Wednesday in Lahore with Multan Sultans facing Hyderabad Kingsmen. Eliminator 2 follows on Friday at the same ground, between the Qualifier’s losing side and the Eliminator 1 winner.
