It looks like there is no counting out Babar Azam. Two years after he last scored a century in a T20 game, the Pakistan stalwart finally managed to breach the triple-century mark in the game between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators in the PSL 2026 game on Sunday. Azam’s knock marked the first time since February 26, 2024, that he has gone past the 100-run mark in a T20 game. Not only does this prove that he has broken free from the shackles of poor form, but he is also now second on the list of batters with the most hundreds in T20s.
Babar Azam goes past David Warner
Babar slammed a 52-ball hundred in the game against QTG on Sunday, in which he struck 6 fours and 4 sixes, at a strike rate of 192.31 while batting at number 2. Before this game, Azam had scored 71*, 18, 43, 87*, 43, and 39 in PSL 2026. The last time he scored a century in a T20 was way back in February 2024 when he smashed 111 off 63 deliveries against Islamabad United in Lahore. With this hundred, Babar now has overtaken David Warner on the list of batters with most centuries to their name and is only behind the legendary Chris Gayle.

| Babar Azam | 354 | 12206 | 122 | 42.38 | 128.41 | 11 | 100 |

Former West Indies cricketer and RCB stalwart Chris Gayle holds the record for the most hundreds scored by a player in T20s, with 22 to his name. Babar now has 11 to his name, while Warner – who is also a part of PSL 2026 – has 10. Virat Kohli, Abhishek Sharma, and Rohit Sharma, all three who are a part of IPL 2026, are the only Indians on the top 10 list with 9, 8, and 8 centuries to their names respectively in T20s thus far.
Babar Azam has over 12,000 runs from 355 T20s that he has played so far, and averages 42.72. Once considered Pakistan’s best batters across formats, the former skipper has lost his aura in recent years as he has failed to deliver on the expectations. In PSL 2026, he has already scored 401 runs from 7 matches, including a hundred and two fifties.
