Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli received treatment for their respective niggles in MI vs RCB match. While Kohli didn’t take the field in the second innings, Rohit’s innings was cut short with a hamstring injury. In the same game, the BCCI has penalised Hardik Pandya for a slow over-rate and Tim David for disobeying the umpires. Meanwhile, SRH rocked RR on Monday night, with Praful Hinge erupting to the scene with aplomb.

Rohit Sharma injury update

Mumbai Indians (MI) are facing a tough time and Rohit Sharma’s injury has added to their woes. The 38-year-old opener suffered a hamstring injury during the match against RCB and left the field in the sixth over after scoring 19 off 13 balls. His participation in the next match against Punjab Kings on April 16 is uncertain, pending scan results. MI are already struggling, sitting eighth in the points table with three successive losses. Bad news for Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek Sharma’s struggles continued as he registered his first-ever golden duck in the IPL, the seventh duck of the year, against Rajasthan Royals. Jofra Archer got the better of him, caught by Ravi Bishnoi on the first delivery. This takes his total T20 ducks to 16, with critics citing his aggressive approach as a liability. Abhishek now holds the record for most ducks by an Indian in a calendar year in T20s, surpassing Rohit Sharma and Sanju Samson. Read more here.

IPL schedule changed for CSK

The BCCI has revised the IPL 2026 schedule, swapping venues for Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings matches. The April 26 game, initially set for Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, will now be held at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium due to municipal corporation elections in Ahmedabad. The return fixture on May 21, originally in Chennai, will now take place in Ahmedabad at 7:30 PM IST. This change affects the five-time champions CSK and Shubman Gill’s GT team, who are scheduled to face each other on these dates. Read more here.

Hardik Pandya fined

Tim David and Hardik Pandya have been penalized for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. David, the RCB all-rounder, was fined 25% of his match fee for disobeying umpire instructions during a ball change in the 18th over of the match against Mumbai Indians. He repeatedly refused to hand over the ball, prompting the fine. Meanwhile, MI captain Hardik Pandya has been fined INR 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate, the team’s first offence this season. SRH debutant on fire!

Praful Hinge made a sensational IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad, taking four wickets against Rajasthan Royals. The 24-year-old pacer created history by becoming the first bowler to take three wickets in his opening over, dismissing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, and Lhuan-dre Pretorius. He also got RR captain Riyan Parag in his second over, finishing with 4-34. Hinge, bought for Rs 30 lakh, has 27 wickets in 10 first-class matches and is being hailed as a gem for SRH. Virat Kohli injury update

Virat Kohli’s decision not to field in the second innings of RCB’s match against Mumbai Indians (MI) brought new concerns about his ankle injury. The Indian legend scored a half-century off 38 balls but seemed uncomfortable, receiving treatment during his innings. RCB captain Rajat Patidar and teammate Krunal Pandya have downplayed the injury, stating Kohli should be fine.
