Catch the best players' XI with an Impact sub for the second week of the IPL 2026 (April 6-12). All teams have played four matches each so far.

The juggernaut of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 continues as we have now completed two weeks of action in no time. All ten teams have played four games each, with Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) remaining two unbeaten teams thus far. The Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have done as well. However, there are 13 IPL championships that lie in bottom three, with MI, CSK and KKR underperforming massively.

This week of action began with an interrupted match between KKR and PBKS before we saw a nail-biter between GT and Delhi Capitals (DC). David Miller’s brainfade moment of not taking a single cost DC big time, while everyone would also remember Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s utter domination against RCB. Sanju Samson had his real impact as CSK player while RCB capped off the week with a blitz over hapless MI.

Shubman Gill regains form as Suryavanshi blazes

  • Shubman Gill (C) – 126 runs at 63 and 148.23

The highest run-getter of the week, Shubman Gill, has had a great week as captain. Not flashy for the sake of being flashy, but in total command. Two fifties in two games, and both times doing his duty. A strike rate of 150 without ever seeming rushed. He did well against LSG’s speed, especially against Mohammed Shami, who usually gives him trouble. Against DC, he made 70 while batting first while, hammering 56 while chasing against Lucknow.

  • Vaibhav Suryavanshi – 117 runs at 58.5 and 292.50

At this point, it is no longer about potential. It is about impact. Vaibhav Suryavanshi is breaking games inside the powerplay. A strike rate of 292 across two innings is absurd, but the bigger story is how cool he is looking while going up against the best of the bowlers. In a span of a week, he tonked two best pacers of this generation in Jasprit Bumrah and Josh Hazlewood. Unreal for a 15-year-old. Against RCB, he single-handedly killed a 200+ chase in six overs. Twelve sixes in two games tells you everything about his intent. Bowlers are running out of plans against him already.

  • Sanju Samson (wk) – 115 runs at SR 205.35

This was the innings CSK were waiting for. A proper statement knock. 115 not out off 56 balls, and the T20 World Cup 2026 Sanju Samson was present at Chepauk. Samson did the bulk of the damage in the powerplay, scoring 45 of CSK’s 61 runs. What made it special was how he paced it after that. CSK played just one game this week and Samson blazed back to form after three failures right at the start.

  • Jos Buttler ✈️ – 112 runs at 56 and 175.00

Jos Buttler went quietly about his business this week. Two fifties, both coming in different situations. One setting up an innings, the other sealing a chase. He was having a tumultuous T20 form recently but Gujarat will be relieved knowing their biggest match-winner is back in form! Against DC, he scored 52 runs at 192.59 SR before hammering 60 runs in the chase against LSG away from home.

  • Rajat Patidar – 116 runs at 58 and 193.33

Rajat Patidar is doing what every No. 4 dreams of. Walking in and dictating terms immediately. His 20-ball 53 against MI earned plaudits from the entire Wankhede Stadium crowd. It saved RCB from Virat Kohli’s bad knock too. Three sixes in one over off Markande and suddenly the game was gone. Against Rajasthan, it was only Patidar who kept RCB in the game as they had a bad batting outing. However, Patidar’s superb 63 saved RCB from embarrassment. Patidar has hit the joint-most sixes (18) in IPL 2026 so far.

  • Mukul Choudhary – 72 runs at 72 and 175.60

This was the week Mukul Choudhary announced himself. That 54* against KKR forced the world to take notice of him as Mukul single-handedly handed two points to LSG. From 128/7, chasing 182, he pulled off something only Pollard had done before in IPL history, scoring 50-plus in the last four overs of a chase. He hit seven sixes, including an MS Dhoni-like helicopter shot. With LSG struggling with Pooran, Pant and Marsh’s forms but Mukul has inspired the team.

  • Krunal Pandya – 3 wicket, economy 7

Krunal Pandya won’t top the wickets chart, but his role this week was crucial. Against MI, he broke the back of the chase by removing Suryakumar Yadav and conceding just 26 in four overs. In a game where 240 was on the board, that spell is gold. The match’s run rate was 11.55 but Krunal had an economy of 6.5, basically where MI lost the game. He also bowled to specific match-ups, especially against Hardik and SKY, and didn’t allow MI to break free in the middle overs. Patidar has claimed that he has never seen as fearless of a bowler as Pandya (the senior one) and there’s a reason for it.

  • Jamie Overton ✈️ – 4 wickets at 4.5 economy

CSK played one game and Jamie Overton showed his BBL form. Complete domination. Overton’s spell against DC was the difference. 4 for 18, including the wicket of Tristan Stubbs at the death when the game could’ve slipped. He hit hard lengths consistently and didn’t allow batters to line him up. David Miller was stunned as well. On a pitch where 200 was chased aggressively previously, he made it look like a different surface.

  • Rashid Khan ✈️ – 3 wickets at 5.25 economy

Rashid Khan is back to looking like Rashid again. This week, he had an economy of 5.25, the best among bowlers with at least five overs. While he went wicketless against LSG in an afternoon game, his economy of 6.25 derailed the hosts. However, against Delhi Capitals, it was Rashid who flipped the script. When KL Rahul was going strong at one end, Rashid was dismantling DC, as he took 3/17 on a small Arun Jaitley Stadium.

  • Ravi Bishnoi – 4 wickets at 9.5 economy

The only player to have featured in the first week’s team of the IPL 2026 as well. Ravi Bishnoi continues to be one of the most effective middle-overs bowlers this season. He has carried forward his form from the opening week and once again delivered key breakthroughs. His pace through the air has gone up, and batters are struggling to line him up. His four wickets for RR this week were of Virat Kohli, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya. Bishnoi’s redemption story after a horrible IPL 2025 is superb.

  • Jofra Archer ✈️ – 3 wickets at 10 economy

Another Rajasthan player and this time it is Jofra Archer. He may have gone for some runs but his impact with the new ball makes RR a genuine threat for the opposition. He set the tone in both games with early breakthroughs, including a first-ball wicket against RCB. His pace and bounce have unsettled top orders, even on flat decks. Looking injury-free right now, Archer’s a match-winner for RR.

  • Prasidh Krishna – 6 wickets at 10 economy

Since IPL 2025, no bowler has taken more wickets than Prasidh Krishna. In fact, he has struck 35 times. The second-best (Noor Ahmad) has 25. Once again, he topped the wicket-taking charts, taking six in two games, including a 4/28, and a strike rate of just 8 balls per wicket. That is elite. Even when he went at 10 economy, he kept striking. His slower balls to David Miller that denied DC win from a situation where they needed two off two balls were massive. On Sunday against LSG, Prasidh took a four-fer, where he took all the prized wickets for GT.
