Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have made two changes to their playing XI against DC, with Dewald Brevis retuning to give a much-needed boost

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been put into bat first against Delhi Capitals (DC) as Ruturaj Gaikwad has lost the toss at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The five-time champions have made two changes to their playing XI – with Dewald Brevis returning after a sitting out of the first three games and Gurjapneet Singh replacing Matt Henry. CSK are languishing at the bottom of the points table and are yet to open their account, having suffered losses against RR, RCB and PBKS.

CSK had missed Bevis’ services highly in the last three games, with Sarfaraz Khan having to carry the burden of scoring in the middle order. His return will surely give CSK some added confidence, given his ability to accelerate at will.

The five-time champions have decided to leave out Rs 14.20 crore buys Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma out of the playing XI. Another notable change that the team has made is replacing Matt Henry with Gurjapneet Singh. The New Zealand pacer was quite expensive in the three games that he played in IPL 2026, conceding 130 runs in the 60 balls that he bowled, while picking up two wickets at an average of 75.

DC have also made two changes to their playing XI, with Vipraj Nigam being replaced by Auqib Nabi and Ashutosh Sharma replacing Nitish Rana. The Jammu and Kashmir pacer, who was bought by DC after a spectacular domestic season last year, is all set to make his IPL debut. Meanwhile, Rana has been an absolute failure for DC while batting at number 3.
