In four outings in IPL 2026, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already scored 200 runs at an average of 50.00 and a strike rate of 266.67.

On Friday, April 10, inaugural title winners Rajasthan Royals (RR) registered a dominant 6-wicket win over defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

Coming into this match unbeaten in the tournament, RR chased the total in 18 overs, courtesy Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 26-ball 78 and an unbeaten 81 from Dhruv Jurel.

The 15-year-old yet again proved his worth, helping his side over the finish line. As a result, he was not only awarded the Player of the Match, but also earned applause from star Indian batter Virat Kohli. After the conclusion of the game, the 15-year-old prodigy was gifted a cap from Kohli which was autographed and had a special message, which read, “Dear Vaibhav, well done.”

Vaibhav Suryavanshi leapfrogs to claim the Orange Cap

Speaking of the Bihar-born, the rising talent who was roped in by RR in the IPL 2026 mega auction for INR 1.1 Crore, has already etched several feats in his short cricket career. Known for his strokeplay and ability to take the best of the bowlers to cleaners, Suryavanshi has lived up to the hype.

While he played only 7 matches in IPL 2025 and amassed 252 runs, in four outings in IPL 2026, he has already scored 200 runs at an average of 50.00 and a strike rate of 266.67. He scored his second fifty-plus score in the ongoing edition, that too reaching 50 off just 15 deliveries, a record he had already set earlier against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). With his knock of 78, he surpassed his teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal to claim the Orange Cap.

Talking of the Royals, they are just one of the two teams who are still unbeaten in IPL 2026. Following their comprehensive win, the Riyan Parag-led side are sitting at the top of the points table with four wins and 8 points to their name. They will next take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on April 13.
