The competitive VALORANT scene is getting ready for a big tournament as the Road to EWC 2026 Online Qualifiers have been officially announced. This is an important event where teams will compete to earn their spot in the Esports World Cup 2026.

The qualifiers will take place across four major regions, EMEA, Americas, Pacific, and China, and will feature intense matches where only the best teams will move forward.

VALORANT EWC 2026: How the Qualifiers Work

The format is simple and based on team performance in VCT Stage 1. All regions follow a similar two-phase system:

  • Phase 1: Lower-ranked teams (usually 9th–12th) compete in a double-elimination format.
  • Phase 2: The best teams from Phase 1 join higher-ranked teams (2nd–8th) to fight for final qualification spots.

This system gives weaker teams a second chance while still rewarding top-performing teams.

Region-Wise Format and Schedule

EMEA (3 Teams Qualify)

In the EMEA region, Team Heretics has already qualified as the defending champion. The remaining teams will compete for three spots. In Phase 1 (May 11–13), teams ranked 8th to 11th will play, and the top two will advance. They will then join teams ranked 2nd to 7th in Phase 2 (May 22–24 and May 30–31) to fight for qualification.

Americas (3 Teams Qualify)

In the Americas, three teams will qualify. Phase 1 (May 12–13 and May 19–20) will feature teams ranked 9th to 12th, but only one team will move forward. This team will then compete against teams ranked 2nd to 8th in Phase 2 (May 27–31) to decide the final three spots.

Pacific (3 Teams Qualify)

The Pacific region follows a similar structure. Teams ranked 9th to 12th will compete in Phase 1 (May 11–12 and May 18–19), with only one team advancing. In Phase 2 (May 22–24 and May 30–31), they will face higher-ranked teams to secure one of the three qualification spots.

China (2 Teams Qualify)

In China, only two teams will qualify. Phase 1 (May 12–15) will decide one advancing team from the lower-ranked squads. That team will then join the higher-ranked teams in Phase 2 (May 16–20), where they will compete for the final two spots.
