We’ve got fitness, injury, and availability updates regarding Dewald Brevis, Shubman Gill, Cameron Green, and Varun Chakaravarthy. Washington Sundar finally has an IPL fifty. Lastly, Heinrich Klaasen is working on his eye post-international retirement.

Cameron Green to bowl
Cricket Australia has cleared Cameron Green to bowl in the remainder of IPL 2026. The 3-time champions were keenly waiting for the all-rounder to bowl again, with KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane being publicly upset with Green not rolling his arm over. The LSG match on April 9 will be the first time the 26-year-old will bowl in IPL 2026.

Dewald Brevis fit again
Dewald Brevis has confirmed that he’s fit for the CSK vs DC match on April 11. The South African batter hasn’t featured in IPL 2026 yet after sustaining a side strain during practice. Brevis was CSK’s best batter last season, and in his absence, they have lost all three matches this year.

Shubman Gill’s persistent injury
Shubman Gill captained GT against DC in Delhi after missing the last game. At the toss, Gill confirmed that he had a neck spasm, which was similar to the one he experienced against South Africa in November last year. This raises serious concerns over Gill’s fitness in the years to come, with him captaining India in two formats.

KKR provide availability updates
KKR has provided an update on the availability status of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy. The franchise confirmed that Narine isn’t under the weather anymore and has practiced twice since missing the PBKS match. As for Chakaravarthy, he’s still healing from the finger injury, and the medical team is taking care of him.

Washington’s ‘Sundar’ fifty
In his 10th IPL season, Washington Sundar has finally scored his maiden half-century. In his 69th innings, the all-rounder finally hit a fifty. Only three other players have taken longer to get there. Sundar’s 55-run knock helped GT claim a 1-run victory over DC in Delhi.

Klaasen’s unique cricket training
Heinrich Klaasen has been working with an eye doctor in South Africa to improve his decision-making and reaction time. Since Klaasen retired from international cricket last year, he hasn’t faced the same quality of bowling. To make up for it, he’s training using alternative methods, including working with an eye specialist.
