Yuvraj Singh apologises to MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev for father Yograj’s explosive rant
Yuvraj said that he had had a word with his father on these allegations and had told him that making such remarks was not okay.

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has expressed his sincere apologies to ex-India captains Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni for his father Yograj Singh targeting them with explosive statements. Yograj, who is now a coach, has been a staunch critic of the two stalwarts and has often accused them of stalling his and Yuvi’s careers. Yuvraj said that he had had a word with his father on these allegations and had categorically told him that making such remarks was not okay.

Yuvraj Singh says sorry to Dhoni, Dev

Speaking to SportsTak, Yuvraj said that he would like to apologise to both Dhoni and Dev for the statements made by his father against the duo in the past. The former Indian cricketer pointed out that while he did not know what was the issue between Yograj and Kapil, he himself had played alongside MSD and had always expressed his relationship with him, adding that comments made by his father reflect on him as a result.

I would like to apologise to Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni for these comments. I told dad, it’s not okay. Kapil was a great player and captain for India. I don’t know what the issue was between him and my father. I have played with MS Dhoni and have always expressed my relationship with him. But what my dad has said about him — I told him, ‘it’s not okay’. It reflects on me as I have played with him,” Yuvraj said.

Yograj Singh had made bizarre and explosive claims in the past, when it comes to Dev and Dhoni. The former Indian cricketer had revealed that he once had almost shot Kapil with a gun after he was dropped by the latter from the team. He also accused the former Indian captain of ill-treating players apart from making match-fixing allegations. Against Dhoni, Yograj held the 2011 World Cup-winning captain responsible for ruining his son Yuvraj’s career and has made this claim multiple times in the past.

I told him I would appreciate it if he didn’t say these things, whatever the reasons. I sincerely would like to apologise to both of them. And they also know that those words are not mine. As cricketers, I have huge respect for them for whatever they have done for the country,” Yuvraj said.
