Ravindra Jadeja played a key role in RR's 8-wicket win over CSK, finishing with figures of 2/18 in his three overs.

In the third match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, the inaugural title winners, Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated five-time champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), by 8 wickets in Guwahati. With this the Royals not only kickstarted their campaign on a high but also saw several of the key players have a deja vu moment. While emotions ran through a few players in Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja, the latter was seen in a touching moment after the win.

After the conclusion of the match, the Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was seen sharing a heart-touching moment as he kissed the CSK crest on Khaleel Ahmed’s jersey. Jadeja, who had a great day on the field, registering figures of 2/18 in his three overs with the ball, got into this warm gesture, showcasing his fondness with the franchise he had been associated with for over a decade.

While the video has been making rounds on social media, he was also seen having a long conversation with his former teammates in Khaleel and Gurjapneet Singh. It is to be noted that the Indian veteran has been part of CSK’s multiple title-winning campaigns, including the 2018, 2021 and 2023 wins.

Ravindra Jadeja on his switch from CSK to RR

Being a part of one of the biggest trade moves ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction, Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran moved to RR with Sanju Samson being roped in by CSK. While the move have been a part of talks for long now, Jadeja admitted that the transition wasn’t an easy one for him, especially after he was part of the Yellow brigade for 12-13 years.

Reflecting on his departure, the 37-year-old stated, “Obviously, leaving a franchise like CSK, where I had played for 12-13 years, was a little difficult initially. It was very emotional.” However, he seemed to have embraced the transition with maturity, he added, “I told myself that changes like these are also part of the journey.

Ravindra Jadeja, who is set to play a key role in RR colours, will return to the field when Riyan Parag and Co. take on Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 4 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
