Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will host a mega event, ROAR ’26, on March 22 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The current squad, support staff, and around 19-20 former CSK players will be in attendance for the show, running from 4 to 9 PM.
CSK have denied that they’ll announce something big at the event. “It is just a pre-launch for the season and an exercise in fan engagement. There is nothing more to read into it,” said CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan.
CSK seeks permission from other IPL franchises
CSK had asked permission from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Gujarat Titans (GT), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to release their current coaches for the day and allow them to attend the event. This includes SRH bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan, newly appointed GT batting coach Matthew Hayden, and KKR mentor Dwayne Bravo.
Muralitharan isn’t 100% certain to attend. He’d joined SRH a week ago and will return to Sri Lanka. He’s expected to return and attend the event. “He will be travelling to Sri Lanka tomorrow and may attend on his return,” a source told Cricbuzz.
No Ashwin, Dube & Samson to arrive later
Suresh Raina, Murali Vijay, and Subramaniam Badrinath will attend the event. However, Ravichandran Ashwin won’t. The former spinner is out of town, Viswanathan confirmed.
Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube are the only two players who haven’t joined the CSK camp until now. But by the time the event days, both would’ve linked up with the team.
