Prashant Veer is all set to make his IPL debut in the upcoming edition of the tournament and will don the CSK jersey. The uncapped star was bagged by the five-time champions for a whooping Rs 14.2 crores at the IPL 2026 mini-auction, and is seen as Ravindra Jadeja’s replacement in CSK’s XI due to his all-round abilities. Ahead of the start of IPL 2026, Veer has revealed an unique advice that was given to him by MS Dhoni.
MS Dhoni asks Veer to save money
Speaking to Sportstar, Veer revealed that while he has not spoken much about cricket with Dhoni, the latter has asked him to save money and not spend it unnecessarily.
“Right now, we haven’t spoken much about cricket. He told me to save my money and not spend it unnecessarily,” Veer revealed.
Veer delivered a standout performance in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League (UPT20), having scored 320 runs from 10 games, averaging 64. He was even called for trials by CSK before the mini auction, which pretty much explains why the five-time champions were hell bent to get him in the IPL 2026 auction. The 20-year-old serves as a perfect replacement for Ravindra Jadeja, as he is a left-arm all-rounder.
