Kolkata Knight Riders have dropped their new jersey for IPL 2026, a little over two weeks before the new season begins on March 28. The franchise unveiled the kit on Friday, sticking to its traditional purple-and-gold base but dressing it up with a fresh concept called Lines of Legacy.
The idea, KKR say, is to build the jersey around moments that shaped the franchise over the years. Think Brendon McCullum’s 158 not out on the opening night of the IPL in 2008. Think Rinku Singh doing the unthinkable with five sixes in an over. The design carries those memories as part of a geometric pattern running through the body of the shirt, while the three stars above the crest remain in place as a reminder of KKR’s three title wins. KKR have not tried to reinvent their look. The purple stays dominant, the gold panels on the sides are back.
Price and what KKR said about the new kit
The jersey has gone live in different versions on the official store. The youth player version is priced at Rs 799, the half-sleeve player version at Rs 1,899, and the full-sleeve player version at Rs 2,099. Meanwhile, you can customise the kit with a jersey number and name, adding Rs 125 each.
Speaking on the launch, Knight Riders Sports CEO Venky Mysore said the jersey was meant to reflect the journey KKR have been on.
“The Lines of Legacy captures the essence of KKR’s storied history and celebrates the journey of the team over the years. Each line represents a pivotal moment of brilliance, reflecting the energy and spirit that weave together to form our identity. We are proud of this legacy that we have built and want to carry it into the upcoming season while creating more memories for our fans to cherish,” Mysore said.
KKR begin their IPL 2026 campaign on March 29 against Mumbai Indians in Mumbai. Their first three games at home after that will be against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants at Eden Gardens.
