Bangladesh cricket team pacer Nahid Rana wreaked havoc on the Pakistan batters in the BAN vs PAK 1st ODI as the visitors were bundled out for just 114 runs. The Men in Green’s preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup started off on the wrong note as Shaheen Afridi and co. were no match for BAN in Dhaka. Rana clinched his first five-wicket haul in his ODI career to decimate the visitors.
Nahid Rana runs through hapless Pakistan line-up
Sahibzada Farhan (27), the highest run-getter of the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2026, was Rana’s first victim as he was dismissed in the final delivery of the 10th over. Thereafter, wickets started to fall in quick succession. The Bangladesh pacer got rid of Shamyl Hussain (4) and Maaz Sadaqat (18) within the span of two overs.
Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan was the next to depart as he was sent packing for just 10 runs by Rana. The Bangladesh pacer added the fifth wicket to his tally by getting rid of Salman Ali Agha cheaply. Before the BAN vs PAK 1st ODI, Rana’s best figures were 2/40. Bangladesh are in firm position to win the 1st ODI, thanks to the efforts of the bowlers. While Rana finished with figures of 5/24 from 7 overs, Mehidy Hasan Miraz bagged 3 wickets and conceded just 29 runs from his 10 overs.
