Gujarat Titans have appointed former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden as their batting coach ahead of IPL 2026. The ex-Austalian opener has been a part of the IPL in the past, having played for Chennai Super Kings, and has until recently been involved in broadcast duties. GT has a stellar run in the previous season, with their batting being the stong suit, powered by the likes of Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler.

Gujarat Titans name Hayden as batting coach

Hayden joins the GT support staff that comprises of head coach Asish Nehra and Parthiv Patel. Patel is also a batting coach in the side. GT’s decision to include the former Australian cricketer in the same position is aimed at improving their batting further. Commenting on his appointment, Hayden noted that good batting not only applies pressure but also owns the game.

Good batting applies pressure. Great batting owns the game. That’s the standard we want to set at Gujarat Titans,” Hayden said after being named as the batting coach.
