With the prestigious T20 franchise cricket league, the Indian Premier League (IPL) returning with its 19th edition, one of the key franchises, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have unveiled their new identity. The team which came into existence in 2022 along with Gujarat Titans (GT), on February 24 revealed their new logo.
This comes just hours after the franchise had removed profile pictures from all its social media handles and had also teased of a logo update in a storyline-video tweet. Rather than putting a clear clarification, the franchise turned it into a mystery, leaving everyone puzzled and quizzed as the caption of the tweet read, “Achanak se logo kahan chala gaya humaara?”
LSG reveal new logo
The franchise took to X, sharing its new logo, which features an elephant with two wings on its either side. The new emblem boasts of three powerful symbols, the Garuda, the Crown and the Elephant, where each of it shares a story which relates to Lucknow and the state of Uttar Pradesh. The post on X was captioned, “Junoon hai, Toofan hai. Lucknow Super Giants ki ye ek nayi udaan hai”.
Furthermore, in its official release, RPSG Group Chairman Goenka said, “This new logo is deeply emotional for us. The people of Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh welcomed the Super Giants into their hearts from day one. This symbol is a tribute to that love and belief. Garuda reflects our dreams to rise higher. The Crown reflects the pride you place on us every time we take the field. And the Elephant reflects the strength and loyalty that defines this region.”
