Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been enrolled in Modesty School Tajpur and was set to appear in the Class 10th exams from February 17 till March 11.

India’s rising star and young cricket prodigy, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, has been in the news for his recent run of form at the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The 14-year-old’s explosive 175 guided the young Indian team to their record sixth title. Days after the conclusion of the tournament, the Bihar-born cricketer was set to appear in the tenth-class boards, but recent updates have revealed that he’ll be missing the examination.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi to skip exams

A resident of Tajpur in Bihar, Vaibhav has been enrolled in Modesty School Tajpur and was set to appear in the Class 10th exams from February 17 to March 11. However, sources close to the development have reported that due to continuous cricket activities, he had to stay away from home, which has hampered his preparations.

As per the Director of Modesty School, Tajpur, Adarsh Kumar Pintu, Suryavanshi’s form had been filled and even the admit card was issued. But after a recent conversation with his father, it was decided that he would not appear in the examination.

In red-hot form

The 14-year-old, who rose to fame with his knocks in Rajasthan Royals (RR) colours in IPL 2025, once again grabbed the limelight at the U-19 Cricket World Cup. Suryavanshi finished as the second-highest run-getter at the tournament, amassing 439 runs in seven matches at an average of 62.71 and a strike rate of 169.49.

Moreover, he not only hit a century and registered three fifty-plus scores, but also smashed a record-breaking 30 sixes, surpassing South Africa’s Dewald Brevis’ record of 18 sixes. While it’s just a beginning for Suryavanshi, he is also India’s leading run-getter in U19 ODIs with 1412 runs in 25 innings.
