Bell now joins head coach Hemang Badani and mentor Kevin Pietersen in DC as the side aims to lay their hands on the elusive IPL title.

Delhi Capitals (DC) have made a new addition to their support staff and have announced Ian Bell as assistant coach before IPL 2026. The former England cricketer, who has never been a part of IPL in the past, retired from international cricket in 2020. Bell now joins head coach Hemang Badani and mentor Kevin Pietersen in DC as the side aims to lay their hands on the elusive IPL title.

Bell joins DC as assistant coach

The stint with DC marks Bell’s first in the IPL setup. Previously, he has coached England’s junior teams, including working with different age group sides. Talking about Bell’s coaching history, the former England player also essayed the role of batting coach for Sri Lanka in 2024 when the side toured England. He also worked with the New Zealand team in 2023. In franchise cricket, Bell has served as assistant coach for Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.
