On January 28, we got a positive and negative update on Washington Sundar. Rajasthan Royals (RR) have received a mammoth bid. We’ll see India ‘A’ in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup 2026. Bangladesh’s odd India tactics have been exposed. Sanju Samson has disappointed again. Rahul Dravid has words of wisdom for Gautam Gambhir and agrees with Shubman Gill’s Test suggestions.

Washington Sundar out of T20 World Cup?
Washington Sundar is expected to miss India’s first two group-stage matches in the T20 World Cup. Against the USA and Namibia. The all-rounder has resumed batting in the nets, but he’s experiencing pain while doing so. Washington will most likely make his comeback in the India vs Pakistan match on February 15.

Rajasthan Royals sale update
RR has received a bid worth $1.3 billion (INR 11,956 crores approximately) from a USA-based consortium, headed by Kal Somani, who is already an investor in RR. Three other bidders, Times Internet Chairman Satyan Gajwani, Blackstone Inc., and Carlyle Group Inc., are interested in buying the IPL 2008 champions.

Bangladesh’s hypocrisy
The Bangladeshi government is against sending their cricket team to India for the T20 World Cup due to ‘safety concerns’. But has no concerns for their shooter, Robiul Islam. The Asian Rifle and Pistol Shooting Championship will be held in New Delhi from February 2 to 14, and Robiul will be one of the shooters there.

Four matches and four failures for Sanju Samson. Despite scores of 10, 6, and 0 against New Zealand, Samson was backed to open with Abhishek Sharma in Visakhapatnam. But the wicketkeeper managed just 24 from 15. In his last 15 innings, Samson hasn’t scored a fifty and has crossed the 30-run mark just once.

Dravid agrees with Gill
Rahul Dravid has cautioned India and Gautam Gambhir about having ‘one bad day at the office’ and losing the T20 World Cup, for which the Men in Blue start as favourites. Dravid also gave red-ball captain Shubman Gill’s idea of having 15-day camps to prepare for the home Test series his seal of approval.
