Sophie Devine and Georgia Voll had scored 99 in 2023 and 2025, respectively, but Nat Sciver-Brunt has finally ended the wait for WPL's first hundred.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is the first centurion of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). 99 was the highest score, which Sophie Devine registered in the 2023 season, and Georgia Voll matched in the last edition. Sciver-Brunt has ended the wait and smashed the first hundred of the WPL.

The English all-rounder had entered the middle in the 3rd over after Sajeevan Sajana was dismissed by Lauren Bell. Sciver-Brunt remained unbeaten from there on, reaching the milestone in the final over of the first innings and scoring more than half of Mumbai Indians (MI) Women’s total of 199.

Initially, Sciver-Brunt took time. After the powerplay, she had scored just 11 (13). She paced herself in the next four as Hayley Mathews was in full flow. At the halfway mark, the number three was unbeaten on 31 (26). She exploded from there. In the next 13 balls, Sciver-Brunt scored 39 runs.

Thanks to her and Mathews, MI were 150/2 in 15 overs. 200 looked easy, but barring Sciver-Brunt and a small cameo from Harmanpreet Kaur, none of the batters got going. MI were 194/3, with Sciver-Brunt needing just one run to bring her maiden T20 century. On the third last ball of the innings, she got a single as MI finished on 199/4.

“I’ve seen a few players get out in the 90s, so I didn’t want to replicate that. But I also wanted to get as many runs for the team. Really pleased that we could get up to that total, personally, really happy as well. I guess it’s a first T20 century for me; so happy to get over that milestone, and hopefully it’s not the last. We’ve lost a lot of tosses in the evening games, so I’m really happy to get that kind of score on the board,” she said after the first innings.
